Played Hooker for Junior Kangaroos[edit]

The Sunday Mail reported Barnes's position was at hooker in Lae (as cited in the wikipedia main article).

Barnes was selected alongside a host of current Test players in a Kangaroos Invitational XIII side that thrashed Papua New Guinea in Townsville earlier this month. He went on to play a starring role for the Junior Kangaroos in their 52-24 win over the Kumuls a week later in Lae...

Wcrosbie, apologies as there was an error in the citation, this is now amended. See [1], paragraphs 19 to 23. He most certainly packed into the scum as the hooker, although, as you say, the main role of the hooker is as dummy half. Also see Malcolm Knox [2] paragraph 20: But as a rugby league player, the furthest Barnes had travelled was to Lae, in Papua New Guinea, as hooker for the Young Kangaroos. Wcrosbie, in rugby league a hooker is a half type player - much more like a rugby union halfback than a rugby union hooker. Mattlore (talk) 04:30, 12 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
