  • I'm really tempted to quick-fail this article, but as you've waited over two months I'll give it a shot. It really needs a lot of work. You need an able copy-editor immediately. The prose are unfortunately very poor. Also, the references are all over the place. Several not even formatted, and I find it hard to even find 1 done properly.--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 22:48, 17 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Rewrote the article, can you take another look? igordebraga 01:43, 19 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • as the lead single from The Spirit Indestructible, her first English-language album in six years. -> This should be re-arranged
  • and celebrates the swagger that music gives a listener. -> statements like this are problematic. Again, needs a good copy-editor
  • You should try and buff up the article a bit. It's kind of low on content. Can't you find more information?
  • Still have several unreliable sources. Twitter, Youtube, Thatgrapjuice etc. Still needs a lot of work. I'm willing to give you some time, so just focus on improving it.--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 00:54, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Self-published and questionable sources may be used as sources of information about themselves" - and given the refs taken from YouTube and Twitter come only from Nelly's own channel, they serve as primary sources. Anyway, added and rewrote some more material. igordebraga 03:39, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm getting a bit annoyed. You've literally added nothing. I'm getting tired of you keep hassling me to check the article when you do not properly apply the advice I give. Articles under my review will not get a pass with references from YouTube, Twitter, or any kind of blog. I don't know what GAs you have been molding this after, but you've better search for another.--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 04:23, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Cut as many questionable sources as I could (only left two of Nelly's twitter, as " A specific tweet may be useful as a self-published, primary source."). Can you expand on prose problems? igordebraga 05:37, 23 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Let's try again. Remember, I have this page watch-listed. Sources 1, 7, 17, 24, 26, 29, 38, and 42 are unreliable and must be replaced. Next you have so many ref inconsistencies and just plain wrong formatting. Why are 16 & 18 different? Where are the publishers? Publishers for 2, 5, 14? Why are 6 & 32 different? Why is 6 cite news and not cite web? You need to take a good article to mold the sources after. There are too many issues.

Next, I asked for you to try and find more information on the song and expand the content. You did not try at all.

And for prose:

  • and celebrates the feelings brought by music in the listener. -> ???
  • Furtado's vocals were criticized and described as irritating -> This should be in quotes with a direct source after it. Who said this?
  • The song was a moderate success on the charts, reaching a higher peak on the UK Singles Chart at number 14 -> How does this make sense?
  • and cityscapes that Furtado towers over -> What the hell is that supposed to mean? You haven't mentioned anything about stilts
  • that Nelly Furtado -> Furtado, the singer, she
  • Furtado stated that the song was written from the point of view of herself at the age of fourteen, with the lyrics translating "the essence I think of my life as a teenager", where she was "growing up in my small town but living, living this life that was full of this wonderful R&B and hip hop music that I listened to and it became sort of part of my lifestyle and my friends and I we lived, it was the soundtrack of that time in my life." -> This one is just a big mess of tenses, poorly placed and incorporated quotes etc.

As You can see, this article needs a lot of work.--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 23:50, 27 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • I do not see sufficient effort being put in from the nominator. I highlighted several things a few times, and they were continuously overlooked. We are nearing one month, and the editor hasn't even replied to me or made sufficient edits to the article in almost 10 days. I'm failing the article. Good luck, but you should really do a lot more before re-nominating.--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 09:48, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
