  3. No explaination of "MUXES will still be available within the original A group" - what is a MUX and what is an A group?

2023 update[edit]

The new mast is now structurally complete although my information is that it has not yet been fully commissioned. I have taken the liberty of replacing an old image showing a demolition site with one (created by myself) showing the fine new mast with the small temporary mast beside it. I don't consider the old image says anything but if anyone thinks differently then they are welcome to reinstate it.Izzy (talk) 18:04, 12 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, ClevelandUpdates. The image of Bilsdale as a demolition site was replaced by an updated image. It wasn't simply deleted. Does the obsolete demolition site image serve any purpose?. That apart, the demolition site image you inserted appears to have been taken from an aircraft. Are you sure its claimed "own image" copyright status is OK?.Izzy (talk) 11:08, 7 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The image is still relevant to the article showing the history of the mast and is a very different image to one showing the new mast in situ. Showing the mast in situ isn't an "updated" image, it's a completely different context.
My thought is that the main image in the info box should be the current mast. Then in the replacement section there should be an image of the new mast, and in the fire/demolition section there should be the photo showing the aftermath of the fire. All three images document very different parts of the masts history.
Yes, the image was taken from an aircraft, and I have no concerns about the copyright status of the image.

Still missing channels[edit]

lost 75% of channels since the new transmitter was turned on. Spoke to someone nearly 3 weeks ago. She said everything will be restored in 2 weeks and everyone is still waiting. It's not good enough. Redcar area 82.16.74.113 (talk) 12:14, 15 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi 82.16.74.113. At the risk of being patronising, may I ask if you have retuned your TV ?. Most people's TV is now back to normal but the channels have moved frequency. Izzy (talk) 14:02, 15 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello thanks for your response. I have retuned both aerial in and out. I have tried a set top box. I try retuning everyday thinking it might be fixed now. Still the same 29 TV and 15 radio channels. My neighbour lost her signal completely. 82.16.74.113 (talk) 16:57, 15 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hey 82.16.74.113. Sounds as if you have some local problem. Do you receive your signal from Bilsdale itself or from a linked relay station?. Good Luck. Izzy (talk) 09:10, 16 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Lizzy I'm not sure according to the lady I spoke to my signal should be coming from pontoc pike. However everything stopped when the original transmitter was destroyed and didn't come back until the temporary mast was up and running so I don't know. The only thing I am 100% sure of is as soon as the new transmitter was turned on everything stopped, until I rescanned and I now have 29 TV and 15 radio channels. 82.16.74.113 (talk) 11:08, 16 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi once again, 82.16.74.113 . Pontop Pike is the transmitter outside Consett serving Tyneside, Northumberland and west Durham. Redcar is served by the Bilsdale transmitter. If your aerial is pointed towards Pontop Pike then you might get a signal but it will be a very weak one. Does your aerial point north west (towards Pontop Pike) or south west (towards Bilsdale)?. Have a look at aerials on neighbouring houses. If their alignment is mostly different to yours then that could be your problem. Izzy (talk) 13:45, 17 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
They all point the same way. Im guessing that is why we're all having the same problem regarding our lost channels. Our aerial was replaced by the housing association after the storms blew the old one down.i will contact them on Monday and see if they can help. (We are mostly over 70) so I don't think any of us can climb up there to put it right still doesn't change the fact it was all fine until the switch on of the new transmitter. Thank you I will let you know what happens on Monday 82.16.74.113 (talk) 14:21, 17 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Izzy the aerial will be adjusted once the housing association has contacted the contractor who originally replaced it. Thank you for helping me I really appreciate your input. 82.16.74.113 (talk) 18:17, 19 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
