The Town of Bird Cove is best known for it history invlving most of newfoundlands aborigional people. The most relivent of these groups are the maritime archaic indians. there are many site all over bird cove with tool once used by these people. One of the most meaningful sites in bird cove is the big droke site. This was a Maritime Archaic Indain living site which waz undustirbed and has 12 hearth features that gives us critical information on how these people lived everyday. It is possible the this site is one of the most importand if not the most important living site since finding a living site is rare and finding a undisturbed site is even more rare. Also the Caines' site is a site in which the people would make their tools. They would place some of there tools under a thin layer of sand and a few small fires would be lit on top of the sand. the heat would change the chemical make up of white chert which they used to make many tools more easy to work with
