Angela Davis[edit]

This article needs more on why Angela Davies has been judged unfit by the Institute and more on the resignations and the move to the extreme right by the Institute? People abroad are puzzled by what looks like a racist decision? Now that the Institute is perceived as opposed to Civil Rights internationally will the name be changed?

  • The BCRI's board has not yet made public their reasoning in rescinding the award that was announced for Angela Davis, although some of the criticisms they heard before making that decision have been reported. The BCRI officially remains committed to promoting civil rights and human rights internationally. You can find some more in-depth local reporting here and some recent details on the efforts by the Mayor of Birmingham to hold the BCRI's board accountable here. --Dystopos (talk) 22:53, 11 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
