The genre of the series[edit]

While I don’t have a problem with classifiying Blood Ties as Adventure or even Action (although I think the latter is implying more action than there is in the series), I really don’t think it should be filed under Science Fiction. Given that there is no consensus about the definition of SF as a genre (cf. Definitions of science fiction), in my opinion this series is nonetheless much better described as Dark fantasy or as Fantasy/Horror to use two more general terms. Since noone seems to object I changed the genre list to "Action, Adventure, Fantasy, Horror" and also changed the corresponding links to more specific articles. Netpilgrim 13:21, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would also suggest perhaps adding "Dark Romance" and "Supernatural" to the genre, seeing as various episodes bridge topics of all the genre topics suggested.Tigerpoet 10:03, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So all these heavy-breathing, heroic vampire romances that have sprouted up in recent years haven't yet amounted to a genre in their own right? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.229.55.73 (talk) 23:52, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Location[edit]

Though the series is supposedly supposed to take place in Toronto, it is in fact filmed in Vancouver. I know this for a fact as my agent books work for local actors onto the show, and we are based in Vancouver. More specifically the police office is located in Maple Ridge on the same sets that are used for Painkiller Jane, the TV series, simply redressed. --Venixer 06:17, 11 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And while it's set in Toronto, they use American lingo like "DMV" when referring to the Ministry of Transportation (MTO). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.156.98.126 (talk) 23:48, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Starsparkle007 22:01, 26 August 2007 (UTC)Blood ties is great[edit]

i have only just started watching this show and i am finding that i am caught up in it already and find it to be a very exciting and interesting show. you dont know where it is going to go and it has a great plot line. the actors are great and they really bring the charcters to life it is quite a dark and intense show but that is one of the things i like about it. i have to admit the actor that plays Henry is very easy on the eye as well. i really do hope that this gets picked up for a second show and even goes on to a 3rd. im definetly a fan of the show. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Starsparkle007 (talkcontribs) 22:01, August 26, 2007 (UTC)

Whereas I've seen both, I'm convinced that they are virtually the same, & should be linked.

Fair use rationale for Image:Bloodties logo.jpg[edit]

Image:Bloodties logo.jpg is being used on this article. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Re: "We Are Not Dead Yet" Removal[edit]

Removed because as written it doesn't remotely belong in the article. 68.148.120.7 (talk) 23:07, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WGA Strike[edit]

according to Effect of the 2007–08 Writers Guild of America strike on television, this show uses American writers, and as such is on strike, is that right? 70.55.85.35 (talk) 04:46, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not according to e! online: "I don't think the strike is going to hurt us, because Canadian writers are not hindered by the U.S. guild rules." I'd rather something more definitive, though. Bilby (talk) 04:52, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vicki's Bio[edit]

"Meanwhile, her growing attraction to Henry only fuels to the complications in her love life, putting her in the center of a cliched and stereotypical love triangle." Seems very opinionated.....12.54.25.114 (talk) 00:11, 17 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
