The sourcing for note 4 (about New Orleans) is ridiculous.Tnmonaghan (talk) 19:57, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Was the idea of slashing a sole with a razer invented for a 1935 shoe by Mr Sperry? I thought it was just a bit of folk knowledge that lots of people on boats had probably found out for themselves, and the footnote is to a shoe company called Sperry. If anyone knows for sure this would be good to change.Veganline (talk) 09:47, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"America, the UK, Portugal, Argentina and France."? Where does that shortlist come from? It seems pretty random to me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.4.15.78 (talk) 00:02, 28 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Better known as deck shoes?[edit]

If boat shoes, as I have allways heard them refered to as, are better known as deck shoes, as the first sentence states, why is that not the name of the article? My opinion is that they are better known as boat shoes and that the sentence should be that they are "also known" as deck shoes.
