infobox[edit]

Surely there must be a more suitable infobox than the prime minister one!dramatic (talk) 06:21, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

My mistake. Me, or someone else will have to get to that one... Nz26 (talk) 07:32, 26 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'll move this article and set up a disambiguation page for the the Bob Parkers. Schwede66 08:04, 20 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Trim[edit]

I've just trimmed out some pretty poor content. There's stuff that could be said about both big quakes, but what was here wasn't done well - and the CEO's salary is surely set by the council, not the mayor alone? Snori (talk) 16:48, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have restored the content and amended it so that what it said 'is said well'. The way to build an encyclopaedia is not to remove poor content, but to make it better. The recent additions that you removed were referenced (even if the references were not formatted properly) and you shouldn't do that. Schwede66 17:46, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Most of that material seems okay to me, except that the pay rise of the CEO is not sufficiently relevant to this article, unless we have a reference showing that Parker was directly responsible for determining it. It may be appropriate somewhere in 2011 Christchurch earthquake.-gadfium 18:59, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think it's very relevant for this article, as it is typical for how Parker runs the council. The item was discussed as part of the Council meeting on Thursday, 15 December, as you see in the Press article. The Press article first ran 4 days later, because Council had hidden this item and not included it on the agenda. There are 140 comments under the article and many people are ropeable about these antics, with the non-inclusion on the agenda probably a breach of the Local Government Act. Given that the mayor is ultimately responsible for the agenda, and makes the decision what goes to Council and what doesn't, it belongs to this article.
