Merge?[edit]
I think that Bogo-Indian Defence, Monticelli Trap should be merged into this article. Bubba73 (You talkin' to me?), 03:27, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
- I tend to disagree. It seems that other named opening traps tend to have separate articles -- for instance Elephant Trap. Perhaps this is because most (and the Monticelli Trap is one of them) occur several moves in, whereas the openings articles themselves usually just give an overview of play on the first few moves. 91.107.147.69 (talk) 22:27, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
Frequency[edit]
The introductory paragraph to this article used to say that the Bogo-Indian 'is not as popular as the Queen's Indian but is seen occasionally at all levels'. I've changed this to say '[...] commonly seen at all levels', which seems like a more accurate representation of the frequency with which these two openings are played.
For example, according to the online game database at Chesstempo.com, after 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e6 3.Nf3 the Bogo-Indian is seen slightly more than half as often as the Queen's Indian (c33,000 games vs c64,000 games). Axad12 (talk) 17:49, 28 November 2023 (UTC)
