Defunct date

Bollack may indeed have died in 1931, but the company plugged on for a few years longer. Here is a picture of a '34 B.N.C., here's a 1933 model. oops, it seems that both of those images are of BNC Siréjols "continuation" cars. My source was a Belgian car mag from 1984, but I don't know where I may have placed it so I cannot verify nor share it right now. I'll sniff around some more, but it seems that 1931 is indeed correct.  Mr.choppers | ✎  19:48, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

I'm still having difficulty getting past my joy at the realisation that a man called Bollack has made it to Wikipedia, but that simply reflects my lack of mental maturity. On the company's date of death ... yes, a source for the 1935 date would be useful. Georgano is widely consulted because they printed it in huge numbers in several different languages, and it is truly wonderful to have so much knowledge in a single volume. However, it does mean that what he writes can assume a level of perceived infallibility that is unjustified: something that also applies to a(t least one) well known on-line encylopaedic project, I fear. I remember now; the quotation for the 1935 finishing date was so vague that I ended up moving the citation away, leaving that portion uncited. There is also this article, which supports the notion that they went bankrupt in 1931 but that they may have continued to build a trickle of (Meadowes-engined) machines until 1936 - maybe that's when the liquidation was complete? Siréjols seems an interesting character, according to the linked article (and a few others - but maybe they're all citing each other?) he continued to represent BNC from his workshop from '36 until 1976! Lots of mysteries here. And very true what you say about Georgano. Meanwhile, the fact that BNC's large 2-litre car from 1931 never made it into production provides further support for the 1931 defunct date.  Mr.choppers | ✎  03:44, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
