New article[edit]

This article was created to cover the wider borough which extends to other settlements like Langley etc...this has enough stead to be a standalone article from the town article like the newly created Borough of Luton article is separate article to Luton itself...Discuss here any concerns raised. The luton split is likely to be reverted. Merge notices have been on that page for a while now with no opposition to merging. Eopsid (talk) 08:30, 15 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

That's the urban area your thinking of Eopsid, I proposed that but not the borough. Slough has two notable towns with Langley. It be a bit like Blackburn with Darwen two towns one unitary. Same with Slough and Langley two towns one unitary. For Luton it has no towns in its borough so be a Tamworth affair I think DragonofBatley (talk) 09:31, 15 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that Slough and its borough is more worthy of a split than Luton. I dont know enough about Slough to say if Slough and Langley are seperate towns. They're part of the same urban area and borough but that doesnt stop almost every london borough having a seperate article from the town its named for. I think the main argument for seperating them is that Slough's borough contains parishes unlike Luton's. However I'd probably oppose the split or be neutral. It may be worth creating a talk discussion on the Slough page about a split. You're more likely to find people who are familiar with the area there. Eopsid (talk) 16:59, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
As I said before I weakly support the split, indeed it facilitates the unparished area/district distinction which is different here but the same with Luton. I've added some more sources about boundary changes. I'd also note the odd point about the 2 abolished parishes that were supposedly restored but the OS doesn't show them and also that Wexham Court needs an article regardless. I've added a bit to the Slough talk section to try and garner more opinions. Talk:Slough#Recent split to Borough of Slough Eopsid (talk) 17:50, 20 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
