Name[edit]

"The name most likely comes from Alexander the Great". Says who? It could come from anywhere at all. We need a source or we must stay silent on the matter. Grace Note 06:17, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Issues[edit]

First, there is already a page on the Alexander cocktail, complete with IBA-specific recipe for the Brandy variation, here: Alexander_(cocktail). Secondly, there are quite a few claims that are somewhat questionable. "It's widely known to have been John Lennon's favorite"...widely known where? Sources? The 'source' page for the drink being named after Tsar Alexander has been removed, leaving that very much in doubt. And while Gaz Regan is a knowledgable man when it comes to drinks, that the Alexander in general comes from Rector's is secondhand guess-work even in the source, and speaks nothing at all about the Brandy variation, indeed admitting that the origin is most likely lost.85.229.55.77 (talk) 14:45, 30 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
