New track Listing

The track listing for the album has been confirmed by a reliable source: http://disneystar-mania.blogspot.com/ Here it is:

01. Breakout 02. 7 Things 03. Driveaway (with Noah Cyrus) 04. Girls Just Wanna Have Fun 05. Full Circle 06. Fly On The Wall 07. Bottom Of The Ocean 08. Wake Up America 09. Four Walls 10. Simple Song 11. Goodbye 12. See You Again (Rock Mafia Remix)

Hopefully Don't Walk Away well end up on the album, but that does not seem the case. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hat45 (talkcontribs) 21:00, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

http://disneystar-mania.blogspot.com/ is a fan blog and is no more reliable than any other fan site. There have been so many different track lists published in this article that anything we see in a fan site could have come from here or been make up and "leaked". I would like to see a reliable source - Amazon, Disney, Billboard, a press release, Cyrus's official web sites. Fan-sites, blogs have a really good chance of being wrong. --NrDg 21:11, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

See You Again

I've added "See You Again" as a single as in the official Hollywood Records posting of 7 Things on YouTube [1], it says that Breakout "includes the hit singles '7 Things' and 'See You Again'", which would make it seem that they are treating the version of See You Again that is on here as part of the previous See You Again release. Save-Me-Oprah(talk) 01:05, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

Trace Cyrus

Can anyone post that his half-brother will be featured on one of the songs? Source: http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1589157/20080611/metro_station.jhtml --DCFan101 (talk) 23:38, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

Errors

The candian chart isn't called "top canadian albums chart" and she didn't appear as part of Today's Concert serious, it was Good Morning America!

Full Circle the next new single?

Someone can confirm if Full Circle is the next single? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Renanx3 (talkcontribs) 00:45, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

It's not. "Fly On the Wall" is. It was released to Radio Disney just yesterday. Tcatron565 (talk) 14:08, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Alternative covers

While I was searching on Flickr, I noticed that there were several alternative covers of 'Breakout' before the one on the page was chosen. Do you think that any of those should be on the page? 24.151.137.221 (talk) 17:27, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

Chart listing

I checked on Oricon Daily Chart in Japan and Miley has not peaked at 10, she just entered that chart at 21 so that would be impossible. Who keeps changing it to 10?

In the last week she was in 10, but she felt to 21, the chart don't show the peak position of the albums. (UTC)200.216.63.82 (talk) 16:54, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
Ok thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Abc890 (talkcontribs) 14:43, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

Writer(s)

Who the hell wrote that everything was written by Billy Ray Cyrus? Robby Ray may write Hannah's tunes in the show, but in reality Billy doesn't even write his own stuff. I don't know the names of the folks who actually wrote them, so I can't fix it, but someone certainly should.

GA Review

This review is transcluded from Talk:Breakout (album)/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the review.

Reviewer: Adabow (talk) 22:26, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

GA review – see WP:WIAGA for criteria

  1. Is it reasonably well written?
    A. Prose quality:
    B. MoS compliance:
  2. Is it factually accurate and verifiable?
    A. References to sources:
    B. Citation of reliable sources where necessary:
    C. No original research:
  3. Is it broad in its coverage?
    A. Major aspects:
    B. Focused:
  4. Is it neutral?
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. Is it stable?
    No edit wars, etc:
  6. Does it contain images to illustrate the topic?
    A. Images are copyright tagged, and non-free images have fair use rationales:
    B. Images are provided where possible and appropriate, with suitable captions:
  7. Overall:
    Pass or Fail:

Is it well written?

  • Cyrus' quote relating to "Wake Up America" doesn't need square brackets around the ellipses "...and your generation but your kids and their kids [...] Every....".
  • Done.
  • There are other examples of this in other sections
  • Done.
  • Still one more to fix in the 'Background' section, but I will fix it as it is minor Adabow (talk) 01:41, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
  • Maybe rename 'Music structure and composition' section to 'Musical structure and composition'?
  • Done.
  • You should mention lyrics in the section title too, or move the details about songs' lyrics to another section.
  • Ben Ratliff's comments in the 'Critical reception' section contain dashes. You must use either spaced en dashes or non-spaced em dashes; at the moment they are spaced em dashes
They are em dashes (—), instead you should type in &ndash followed by a ; (this won't fail the GA but for FA you will need to do this)
  • The 'wasn't' in the 'Critical reception' section needs expanding. Any other contractions outside of quotations should also be expanded
  • The different track listings are broken up using level three headers (=== title ==), but this causing a bit of overcrowding in the ToC. Maybe break them up with simple bold headers (; title)?
  • I don't it looks too overcrowded, in fact I think it's better since there is a direct way to see each track listing. -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 23:07, 11 July 2010 (UTC)

Is it factually accurate and verifiable?

  • Several of the early references are simply bare URLs; these need formatting. Genres that are mentioned in the infobox do not need refs if they are referenced later on.
  • In the 'Development' section, citation 6 is the only reference used for the description of "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun"; it doesn't need three appearances, just place it at the end of the paragraph
  • Done.
  • Same thing applies with "Wake Up America".
  • Done.
  • Both the 'Track listings' and 'Personnel' contain no references; some sort of source needs to be cited
  • Fixed.

Is it broad in its coverage?

Yes, pass

Is it neutral?

Both positive and negative comments are balanced and taken within context, pass

Is it stable?

Pass

Does it contain images to illustrate the topic?

  • Cover art has proper copyright tag and appropriate non-free rationale
  • The images of performances are captioned, but how do you know which songs are being sung in the images, as these details are not mentioned on the file pages?
  • Some are and some are not but I know because I own the DVD and have gone to the concert. -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 18:21, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
  • Maybe you could cite the DVD on the file pages. Don't worry too much, as this won't make it fail the GA review, but it may be helpful to others in the future? Adabow (talk) 12:01, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
  • That would be nice. I'll probably just put the songs later, once I have time. -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 23:27, 11 July 2010 (UTC)

Final comments

BREAKOUT IS MILEY'S DEBUT ALBUM. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.117.227.19 (talk) 08:10, 22 April 2015 (UTC)

Breakout is NOT her debut album, it is her second studio album. The disc "Meet Miley Cyrus" which was sold alongside the Hannah Montana 2 soundtrack is her debut studio album under her own name. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 166.170.5.33 (talk) 19:31, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
