Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because relevant articles (including Chronicle of Higher Education) specifically about this individual have been included. — JamaUtil (talk) 17:50, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I believe that, despite the sources, this article qualifies under WP:A7 based on the fact that the subject is significant only for his role in a single event, and a minor event at that. Basalisk inspect damageberate 17:55, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Reading the notability criteria, I count 4 secondary sources that are specifically about the individual that have been included on the page. They are all different, and coverage is substantial. (CHE is also a big journal in higher ed, WashingtonPost is major newspaper) Two of the articles are about becoming president, two are about becoming un-presidented (sorry bad word play on notability <<<sorry had to go back and mention for my loyal readers that don't get it, it's unprecedented (=notability), i crack myself up>>>). JamaUtil (talk) 17:56, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Did you even read my previous statement? My argument is that he's notable only for one event, i.e. losing his job. No one is notable just for losing their job. Basalisk inspect damageberate 18:21, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You don't think he's also notable for becoming a community college president? That seems like a big deal, upending a college search process as done in Arizona seems like a big deal, doing all this while having an arrest warrant AND starting a consultancy to tell others how to be great community college leaders also seems like a big deal. Plus he's VP of NCSC, which is a pretty big deal too. It just seemed like inserting all of these facts in other places wouldn't really describe who Brian K. Johnson is.
