Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedy deleted as having no substantive content, because i am currently editing it.

I've removed the "speedy deletion" tag and tagged it as a "stub" (see WP:STUB). It would be a good idea to get a shift on in fleshing the article out, though. One potential problem, though; the infobox says "commenced operations 6 March 2013". Last time I looked this was 2012, so that's a future date. WP:CRYSTAL mandates that Wikpedia isn't a crystal ball, that is, it doesn't document future events except under very specific conditions (an announcement in a reliable third party source of the airline's future operation would probably be enough). Note that an announcement from the airline itself would not be enough, it needs a third party (BBC or local paper, for example). Given that condition it might be as well to hold off creating the article, or at least making it public (you could keep it in your own userspace) until after 6th March. I'd also be fascinated to know why it took 46 years, from 1967 until 2013, for the line to become operational – was someone saving pennies in a jar to buy a plane?
Oh, a small point, please sign your entries on talk pages (though not in articles) by adding ~~~~ after your entry. This puts your name and the date/time in there. Thanks. Tonywalton Talk 00:08, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Haha, just roughly doing dates that i've got at the moment. I'm new to making wiki pages, i just thought seeming as this is a new airline in my town i would like to write it xD LukeOcana (talk) 00:22, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
As you've no doubt discovered, creating articles in "mainspace" can be hairy, as they often get jumped on. It's often easier to work on stuff in your own userspace (for instance create User:LukeOcana/Brighton City Airways) then move it to mainspace once it's complete. I can move your work in progress to userspace if you like? Tonywalton Talk 00:25, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Advertisment[edit]

I spent a bit of time and trouble to put the article into a more reasonable and balanced wiki format rather than the blatant promotional advert it had turned into. Also please not that wikipedia is not a promotional site or a website for the company or a travel guide. Please discuss any changed here rather than revert back to the "advert" version again, thanks. It was just turned back into a huge WP:PEACOCK job once again, but I have reverted it. Seriously if it had been left like that it should have been sent to WP:CSD as WP:SPAM. This is not how encyclopedia articles are written. Once again please discuss here before trying to turn the article into a PR job. - Ahunt (talk) 17:34, 6 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
