Created[edit]

The article "Brigittenau" was created by German-speaking summer-time user Tfine80 on 2 July 2005, as a single, short paragraph. An early infobox was added on 11 July 2005 by User:Druidika. The article had only minor edits for the next 4 years, but was listed with WP:WikiProject Vienna for expanded translation. On 28-Dec-2008, the article was massively expanded 18x larger, as most full sections were added with translations for Location, Geology, History, District parts, Land use, Population, Religion, Politics, Culture, Museum, and Traffic, plus References. -Wikid77 (talk) 13:56, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reader interest[edit]

28-Dec-2008: According to automated stats in 2008, article "Brigittenau" was read about 330 times per month (11 times per day), although some might have been robotic bot scans (rare articles are read 1-7 times per day). Meanwhile, article "Vienna" was read over 220x times more, averaging about 2,500 readings per day. -Wikid77 (talk) 13:56, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Layout[edit]

28-Dec-2008: The layout of the article was copied from the German Wikipedia. I have modified the infobox to specify parameters for a more narrow display, with image_coat_width=120px and marginleft=0.7em allowing wider text outside the infobox on the leftside. -Wikid77 (talk) 13:56, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Expanding history/traffic/references[edit]

28-Dec-2008: I have massively expanded the article 18x larger, adding most full sections with translations for Location, Geology, History, District parts, Land use, Population, Religion, Politics, Culture, Museum, and Traffic, noting translation from German Wikipedia, adding the official website, and copying references from the German Wikipedia. In 2008, English Wikipedia continued to have unscreened articles, so verification is heavily dependent on listing the references, which are intended as "the source" of reliability for readers. -Wikid77 (talk) 13:56, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Funny Error[edit]

The bottom layers consist mostly of Scots with sand and Kieslagen.

I guess that is the problem with using automated translation. The original German article from which this one was copied says 'Seine unteren Schichten bestehen überwiegend aus Schottern mit Sand und Kieslagen.' Schottern is a slang term for gravel - so I'll change that lest anyone think there is an ancient Scottish battlefield under the Danube. Arjuna's Bow अर्जुन 13:15, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
