Spinoff article[edit]

This article appears to be a "spinoff" from India House. As best I can tell, almost all of the content here is new and did not appear in the former article at the time the article was created. See this quote from Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/India House/archive3: The British Committee of the Indian National Congress is now a seperate and detailed article that should offer the interested reader more info incuding background and dates. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 23:10, 26 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You are partly right in that it was created in response to a query for clarification/ request for more info on the organisation. As you point out, the info in the article is entirely new and was not in the old article. I am not sure this qualifies it as a "spinoff". Is that a problem?rueben_lys (talk · contribs) 18:09, 27 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It's not a problem at all - in this case it's "A Good Thing," for the very reasons you stated. I pointed it out here for two reasons: 1) Because of the "Did you know," if someone else figured out it was a spinoff, I've saved them the time of figuring out that the content was almost-all-new (if it wasn't at least 80% new, it would be ineligible for "Did you know"), and 2) to explicitly call out to readers of this page that they would be well served by reading India House for background and context. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 19:10, 27 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
