Genuine rivalry?[edit]

Hello my friends! I am highly curious as to if this is genuinely a rivalry, the two teams did meet in a super bowl and played in the same division but I personally feel like the animosity has waned in previous years and there is little evidence of hatred between the two clubs. Arguably the rivalry Seattle shared with the now-Las Vegas Raiders would be more fitting for a page, this does not really provide much even going to the AFC days when the only notable moment between the two clubs was Brian Bosworth insulting John Elway in a press conference PontiacAurora (talk) 23:25, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The Broncos–Seahawks rivalry is clearly notable per the cited articles with quotes such as "a rivalry that was once as intense as any."

I agree that a Raiders–Seahawks rivalry page should be created.

Question for relevance[edit]

Hello, this rivalry has shown some very minimal examples of relevance beyond the lone Super bowl meeting between the two clubs on top of the matchups before the Seahawks were relocated to the NFC West, I feel like it does not have the same relevance that Seattle’s rivalries with Los Angeles and San Francisco share 2600:1012:B1AD:FF11:CCDD:6BAA:73EE:DCA9 (talk) 03:06, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Lack of relevance[edit]

I’m sorry but I am failing to see much anchoring a genuine rivalry outside of the brief divisional matchups and Super Bowl 48. The Wilson trade is semi relevant in the sense that it helps both franchises rather than create animosity or competition. What notable matchups within the past 20+ seasons excluding the Super bowl have warranted a rivalry between these teams? The 49ers and Bengals have more of a documented history that could even lead to a rivalry and they’re from two entirely different conferences. Do the 49ers and Bengals have a selection of WP:Reliable third party sources calling it rivalry, as the Broncos–Seahawks rivalry does? If so, feel free to create that article!

The Broncos–Seahawks had an intense divisional rivalry for much of their history. Super Bowl 48 and the Wilson trade have continued that rivalry in the years since the Seahawks left the AFC west. The teams are named as rivals in notable reliable third party sources. Failing to call it a rivalry now is an example of WP:RECENCY bias. PK-WIKI (talk) 20:19, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
