Slavery section[edit]
There have been a number of persistent edits recently relating to Blundell's supposed activity as a slave trader, specifically making reference to ownership of the Tarleton. This is a historic misunderstanding which has been addressed, along with a number of other matters in this new section which is hoped to prevent further poorly-cited edits being made.--Pauladbs1953 (talk) 19:11, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
Of course the Tarleton will not appear on the Lloyd's register of ships given it was started in 1760, after Blundell's death. You have removed the source https://www.slavevoyages.org/voyage/database; even a cursory search for 'Bryan Blundell' here will not only return records of the Tarleton from 1727, it will also return multiple slave ships sailing from Liverpool owned by Bryan Blundell before his death in 1756. I would also suggest reviewing the Bluecoat's own recollection of its history, for example https://mybluecoat.org.uk/collections/bluecoat-and-slavery/collectioncarousel?id=10362, for evidence of its entanglement with the slave trade throughout its early years. Again I would encourage you to read the above and stop engaging in what I personally consider to be approaching disruptive editing. Blundell's involvement in the slave trade is well-established historical fact; I point again to the reputable source https://www.slavevoyages.org/voyage/database which you keep removing from this article. Your assertion that historians have refuted Blundell's involvement in the slave trade is extremely poorly-cited, ironic given your opening remarks here. Not only is your source from 1885, its claim that the Blue Coat was built 14 years before the start of the Liverpool slave trade is incorrect; the first slave ship to sail from Liverpool did so in 1699, 9 years before Blue Coat's foundation.
