U.S. English[edit]

To those who are wondering why this article is written in US English, it is because the main editor, like so many actors, does not use an "accent" when performing. I am more concerned with the message than the accent and would rather the article be consistent than not, since it is more apt to be mistake-free if I just go ahead and write. Once I'm done working on the article (meaning making edits on a regular and, especially, frequent basis), say maybe after a month or two have gone by without any edit from me, then if someone wants to take the trouble to go through this and switch it all, be my guest. But while I'm working on it, just so that the article can remain consistent, I would greatly appreciate everyone's indulgence and just let the minor matter of a missing "u", etc. not prevent you from reading about this remarkable school. I work very hard to write well, but learned from highly skilled professional translators, both British and American, that they don't do each other's work, they pass the job along to a colleague with the right accent. Likewise, I am American and I don't write in British English. Marrante (talk) 13:37, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I came here to say well done to whoever made this page, after I had added a very small section on the building itself and corrected the spelling to Br Eng - now I see why it was in Am Eng! Well done Marrante, an excellent article, very interesting. 81.156.126.158 (talk) 12:50, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Suicide of Martin Solmitz[edit]

Should there be more details of the difficulties of being a refugee and not knowing if one will ever see their parents again? Eduard's suicide at such a young age (13) does not need to appear in the main article, but his family is still upset and would like to collect as much information as possible from the people who witnessed the events pertaining to this sad incident. Shortly before hanging himself from a tree he asked dorm mates about the best way for someone to kill themselves. Until they were re-united with their daughters, his parents only knew he had died in an accident. Young students witnessed much wispering among important staff members who were very distressed. His sisters were told there was no suicide note. Are there any bits of missing informaiton locked away in the remaining collective memories? Mentioning this incident might attract relavent facts. Because there is no tag to allow your reference to appear, I've adjusted it in your post. Marrante (talk) 18:02, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I have added his name to the List of people who attended Bunce Court School, along with the ref above and a partially corroborating reference in German. Marrante (talk) 18:32, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Otterden Place?[edit]

Should the Otterden Place manor house be mentioned in this article? I was surprised it didn't have its own article already, since the house (at 51°15'13.56"N 0°47'18.15"E ) is clearly HUGE. Its about 3700 feet (1140 meters) northeast of Bunce Court. --RThompson82 (talk) 21:50, 14 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
