Much as I hate to be one of the people that does this, I've slapped an NPOV tag on the page since the view from the outset of the article seems to be almost exclusively negative, rather unfortunately. I'll be making a few edits down the track to improve it, hopefully. Slac speak up! 23:09, 11 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

As I said in the edit summary, I copied this article from sourcewatch[1].. The previous article was only one sentence long and I felt more information was warranted. Reading it over again I agree with you that it's not NPOV. Jacoplane 23:15, 11 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Bush Rangers aint just George's supporters[edit]

Whereas I do not doubt the veracity of the articles here, the link "Bush Ranger" from "Convictism" article brings up this page, whereas Bush Ranger has a very different meaning in Australian argot. This is plainly wrong IN THIS CONTEXT.

citations[edit]

Maybe citations could be provided corroberating the fact that some of the people who are claimed to be Bush Pioneers actually are? TerraFrost 05:20, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Article title[edit]

Perhaps the article should have a more general title, i.e. George W. Bush campaign donors or something along those lines? Paul 00:56, 23 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why? The term "Bush pioneer" is the term used in at least a dozen books. It represents not donors, but elite money raisers that get recognition and payback for their efforts. Find background info in these books. Dicklyon 01:36, 23 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Marvin Prescott Bush[edit]

The Bush family does re-use names and they even cross tree branches unexpectedly, but there is no Marvin Prescott Bush in the family tree provided by Kitty Kelley's book, and there is no Marvin P. Bush in the Open Secrets database other than Marvin Pierce Bush. This is probably just a typo. All google searches for the name lead back here or to forum posts. -- Dhartung | Talk 07:07, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've changed the link to point to Marvin Pierce Bush. If anyone has further information about a "Marvin Prescott Bush", feel free to bring it up.--Dhartung | Talk 20:18, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re-added NPOV tag[edit]

I have re-inserted the NPOV tag on this article. It is in serious violation of topical neutrality; I can't see how this is can be seriously disputed.

What does Ken Lay's convictions for crimes involving Enron have to do with Republican fundraising? (Note: Ken Lay died before he could complete his appeals process; therefore his convictions were vacated; in the eyes of the law, if not in fact, he was an innocent man.) This is not in the spirit of an encyclopedia. It's a partisan attack.

I removed the following passage because the inclusion of these individuals is irrelevant. The crimes for which they were accused or convicted of have no relationship to their status as "Bush Pioneers." They are merely included, it appears, in order to smear the younger Bush by association.

and Ken Lay was convicted for his stewardship of Enron. Brent Wilkes was indicted for bribing Duke Cunningham, and Larry Householder and Tom Whatman are under investigation for their involvement in Coingate.

When I have time, I intend to edit this article into a non-partisan form. I am a Reagan Conservative myself but I would never skew the facts to smear a Leftist Democrat.

Let's not play games with this. This article is slanted and needs to be fixed.

I removed the section about 'criminal investigations of those who were Pioneers'. I don't see the relevance to the topic. Maybe we could have 'Pioneers who also bought Girl Scout Cookies' or 'Pioneers who drew photos of Trans Ams when they were in elementary school.' Irrelevant. References badly needed[edit]

Given that stating someone is a 'Bush Pioneer' could be considered controversial, all the names listed on this page urgently need reliable sources to prove that they actually did hold that status. Robofish (talk) 11:54, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
