Used to go to Manhattan?[edit]

The first sentence after the lead says "dairy farmers who used to cross this channel by boat to sell their milk in Manhattan markets". But the strait connects Brooklyn and a tiny island, not Manhattan. Are the dairy farmers based in Governor's Island? SamuelRiv (talk) 05:21, 6 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
