Removed claim that the ivory seals prove paper usage during precolonial times[edit]

Ivory seals do not imply usage of paper nor the burning of documents by Spanish friars according to Otley Beyer (which was already debunked several times by numerous sources, many of which are consultable online). Seals such as the BIS may as well be only used on clay or terracotta sealings, as attested in the The Early Use of Seals in the Malay World by Annabel Teh Gallop. The unsourced claims about the ivory seal being used on paper are thus deleted for lack of valid sources. Stricnina (talk) 22:46, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

source?[edit]

The "Butuan Ivory Seal" (The left hand image is the seal itself; the right hand image shows how a print from the seal would appear.) ...

What is the source of the quoted passage beginning thus? It's not in either of the footnoted webpages. —Tamfang (talk) 19:43, 26 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
