Chart Positions[edit]

I don't think all of these chart positions are correct. Please change it if you find anything wrong. —Preceding unsigned comment added by KingdomHearts25 (talkcontribs) 05:11, 28 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Recording Date[edit]

It was a reasonable temporary measure to remove the recording date, but it has already been proven that the album content was recorded entirely in 1999, into late January 2000 on a few tracks.

Lisa Lopes worked with NSYNC in January 2000, to add a rap to the already recorded song. Studying the lyrics "here it comes Millennium...", it's very likely the song was recorded by the group in December 1999, before her contribution.

Majority of recording was between February and December 1999, so removing the recording date section is questionable. This song debuted in full form during October 1999, so clearly no reason exists to speculate it was recorded in January 2000 nor 1998. It's obviously 1999.

Thirdly, no matter what you want to believe, Max Martin only worked with NSYNC at Battery Studios in July 1999, as late 1999 was spent working on his Oops I Did It Again effort. If Bye Bye Bye was recorded before that, it was likely anywhere between March 1999 and July 16, 1999 that they recorded it. I have no idea why someone changed it to September 1999 (other than for kicks) and it went unchanged/unchallenged until I got involved and Angel started paying attention, deciding to ultimately remove it because of my contribution.

Unlike Michael Jackson or Madonna, this group are not the type of artists who would get a producer to describe word-for-word 20 years later, when and where they recorded material with them in terms of exact dates. I have to go off of past interviews, old news and tabloid information, which is unfortunately inaccessible in most cases. I cannot invest time in hoping to find an old report or an interview proving my theory. Carmaker1 (talk) 19:58, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Also, doing some research, NSYNC did no recording work from March 3 to May 18, 1999 due to a busy and widespread global touring schedule. They only had a 10 day break from May 19 to 29, 1999, in which some recording was done. It is very likely that this song was recorded in Sweden during that 10 day break or June 1999. July 1999 sessions during 17-18 weekend produced extra work on It's Gonna Be Me and possibly even this song. Until September, there was no further recording done. From September 5 to November 26, a huge bulk of material would've been recorded, as their touring locations were too far away from LA, NYC, Stockholm, and Floridian studios. During December 1999, is when many finishing touches began and ultimately concluded in January 2000. Carmaker1 (talk) 21:39, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

And to add to this, I also see that the dates of January 18-23, 1999 are unaccounted for moving from a concert in Biloxi, Mississippi to Spain on the 24th. Was there recording possibly done? Like maybe Stockholm. By January 22, they were in Europe. 18-21st could easily be transit between cities, perhaps a pass through Florida, NYC, or Stockholm before heading to Spain. February 1999 is massively unaccounted for, when they were noted to be recording with Diane Warren. May 19-29 break from touring seems devoid of any international travel. Unless it was recorded in February 1999, I don't see how it preceded any sessions with Max Martin in July 1999 in NYC. Seems like Bye Bye Bye would've been recorded at Cheiron in February or May 1999, as they were to busy to travel in March-April. In June more recording was done as well. None of this can be used—all of it is a violation of WP:No original research. Carmaker1 was banned for doing the same thing on automobile topics. Binksternet (talk) 17:26, 1 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
