Title proposal[edit]

How about César de Film award?

I think so 永愛所有小貓咪 (talk) 09:28, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Table "Films which received 10 or more César Award nominations" breaks up when sorted[edit]

This seems to be because of the rowspans in the first column. Does anyone know how to use rowspans and "sortable wikitable" together. If this is not possible the rowspans should be removed. The sorting facility would seem to be more valuable than the rowspans.

Also, this section is pretty long, indicating that 10 is no longer noteworthy. I suggest changing it to films that have been nominated for 12 or more awards.--67.40.27.61 (talk) 02:13, 8 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Trophy Section[edit]

I added a section on the trophy itself, translated from the French article. Elise Wiggins (talk) 01:20, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I’m not sure if I’m correct[edit]

I think the highest film award of France is (Festival de Cannes) , or I’m wrong? 永愛所有小貓咪 (talk) 09:26, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The Césars are strictly an awards ceremony. Cannes is a festival with a concluding awards ceremony. Therein lies the distinction. Cannes also has an international outlook, whereas the Césars examine films produced by the French film industry. Οἶδα (talk) 06:20, 7 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination criteria[edit]

I can't tell from reading the article, but is the award given only to films produced in France, or owned by French companies? — HTGS (talk) 03:24, 2 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, majority French productions. The criteria is explained in greater detail on French Wikipedia (see fr:César du cinéma#Déroulement). Οἶδα (talk) 06:24, 7 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
