Lachine Canal and water power[edit]

The article suggests the Lachine Canal was a source of water power for industries. I don't understand how a navigation canal, which is basically placid and without fast-moving waters, could provide power. 69.157.141.133 (talk) 16:12, 29 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
