The CAC in CAC 40[edit]

My Collins Robert Unabridged French-English Dictionary indicates that the acronym CAC in CAC 40 stands for "compagnie des agents de change," which it translates as "institute of stockbrokers." I understand from an item on the web site of the Riviera Reporter magazine (http://www.rivierareporter.com/reading/400-the-routledge-dictionary-of-cultural-references-in-modern-french) that the definitive answer may be found in The Routledge Dictionary of Cultural References in Modern French. ☺ Dick Kimball (talk) 15:27, 17 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
