CDJ[edit]

Reading through the "CDJ" page, there are no mentions of products from other manufacturers than Pioneer. Isn't it more logical to rename the "CDJ" page to a "Pioneer CDJ" product page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.151.122.25 (talk) 10:05, 30 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Most DJ's I've known over my 20 year DJ career refer to any DJ styled CD players as CDJ's. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.16.239.2 (talk) 20:51, 6 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The article states that a CDJ refers to any CD player with a platter and Scratching capabilites, but CDJ only refers to Pioneer. A Numark CD player is called a CDX and a Denon CD Player has the prefix DN-S. I removed that statement. Thedjatclubrock :) (T/C) 15:30, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The article also states, "CDJ is a term used to describe a CD player that allows analogue control of music from CDs".[neutrality is disputed] The term CDJ is a term used to describe a line of CD controllers from Pioneer. by this definition, there are many controllers by manufacturers other than Pioneer that would be called CDJs. In addition, it states, "...though the term (CDJ) is now used generically to describe any CD player designed for DJs' use" [neutrality is disputed]. CDJ may be used generically among Pioneer users, but is by no means generic in the DJ community at large. For example, someone interested in a Numark NDX900 Controller (A DJ controller that uses CDs) is very unlikely to call it an NDX900 Controller CDJ. "CDJ" really has become the generic term at this point. --184.71.166.46 (talk) 16:56, 24 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This is very subjective opinion as all manufacturers including Pioneer DJ refer to their players as 'CD player' (or 'Multi Player' recently). This is a definitely misleading article.Iiiked (talk) 05:51, 25 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Aspiring DJ question[edit]

Relocate tag to talk page[edit]

Why should our "behind the scenes" editing discussion spill over onto the public article. In my humble opinion, this is what the talk pages are for. These are valid points, but I think they are better discussed here.OnBeyondZebraxTALK 19:36, 9 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
