Notability[edit]

Notability is really borderline here. I added the precise reference to a published version of the "Jargon Files" (WP:RS), and removed the notability tag, also in reference to the AfD result. But actually the coverage in secondary sources is not really detailed. The traces are only a few sentences long, and many statements in the article go unsourced.

If you don't agree with me removing the "importance" tag, please add "notability" to the article. Sorted as part of the Notability wikiproject. --B. Wolterding 18:09, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Original DEC internal version vs. the published comic book[edit]

The current article description matches the published comic book, with its "slightly disguised" references. The original -- circulated internally within DEC, one or a few pages at a time -- wasn't disguised at all. Its characters and places were called by the "real" names.

I don't remember if the earliest copies circulated by themselves. The fragment I have (a page or three) is part of an in-house spoof called the "Variable Length Node". That's a parody of the software updates/problems newsletters DEC sent out to customers monthly -- "the Small Buffer" and "the Large Buffer". The VLN was an April Fool's parody; there were at least two editions of that, perhaps more. Paul Koning (talk) 16:07, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Card game[edit]

Top result on Google is now the card game. Is it related to the comic strip? cmɢʟee୯ ͡° ̮د ͡° ੭ 12:10, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
