I'll take a look at this shortly. Pickersgill-Cunliffe (talk) 15:30, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Prelim[edit]

Just a note to say that despite all appearances I haven't forgotten about this. Work commitments have left me with little free time; I hope to finish this within the week. Pickersgill-Cunliffe (talk) 18:28, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No worries; I've been busy enough with work this week I wouldn't have been able to spend much time on this anyway. Hog Farm Talk 20:45, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Lede and infobox[edit]

  • Link gunboat
    • Done
  • "it was purchased" choose "it" or "she", but not both
    • Standardized
  • Link commerce raiding
    • Done
  • Is there any source that specifically mentions her being the namesake of Warren Winslow?
    • Not that I've seen, the fuller Warren Winslow name is only used in passing in the sources
  • Operator would rather be the CSN rather than wider CSA
    • Done. There are also situations (mainly along the Mississippi River) where the Confederate Army was operating the ships instead of the Navy

Service history[edit]

  • I think it would be useful to mention the Civil War itself somewhere in main text
    • Done
  • Provide the ship types for Beaufort and Raleigh
    • Done
  • Link commerce raiding
    • Done
  • "May and June 1861" repeated year
    • Removed year
  • "service with" not sure about this wording. Perhaps "service in" or "serve with"?
    • Done
  • Link prize
    • Done
  • "historican" sp
    • Oops, fixed
  • "July 1861" repeated year
    • Removed
  • "but were unable to due so due to weather" needs work
    • Fixed
  • Worth mentioning that according to DANFS Winslow carried Samuel Barron at Hatteras, and the men were evacuated to Goldsboro?
    • Added (Barron from Barrett, Goldsboro from DANFS)

References[edit]

  • References look good. AGF for print sources.
  • Official Records could do with an OCLC
    • Added

@Hog Farm: Hi, that's all I have for now. My sincerest apologies for keeping you waiting for what is not the largest of articles to review. Have a fulfilling break from Wikipedia, and I hope to see you back here one day! Pickersgill-Cunliffe (talk) 10:53, 9 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Pickersgill-Cunliffe: - Thanks for the review! Changes/replies are above. I will be away from my sources for most of next week, but will try to respond as possible. Hog Farm Talk 00:20, 10 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Hog Farm: Passing this article as satisfying the GA criteria. Pickersgill-Cunliffe (talk) 16:01, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
