Official Press Release[edit]

I'm updating the article with the official information GM made available here. I'll make sure to cite everything once done. --Aizuku (talk) 06:11, 9 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

ATS ?[edit]

Does anyone know what ATS stands for according to GM? (I resist, but only with difficulty, the temptation to enter a suggestion according to me.) Thank you (if you did) for adding the answer to the entry. Regards Charles01 (talk) 10:31, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No Research. If you don't have a source to back it up then don't add it. --Aizuku (talk) 13:13, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

BLS Replacement?[edit]

"The ATS was designed as a replacement for the badge-engineered, SAAB-based BLS."

Anyone else feel that the above statement from the article is problematic? I believe that Cadillac's design goals were far more strategic than creating a replacement for the Europe-only, badge-engineered, slow-selling, Saab-based, BLS. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Esfellers (talkcontribs) 20:56, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It is true though, this car fits the same segment of the ATS and most of what I've seen sugests it's mostly geared towards another attempt to get sales in europe. (Morcus (talk) 09:28, 4 February 2012 (UTC))[reply]

Perhaps you could include some references that support "most of what I have seen suggests it's mostly geared towards another attempt to get sales in europe". The existing references make no mention of the BLS or a launch in Europe. Esfellers (talk) 16:56, 5 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Adding a source that quotes GM top brass on ATS design and global marketing plans[1]. This reference, like all previous references, makes no mention of the BLS. So I am planning to remove the statement that the "ATS was designed as a replacement for the BLS". Please comment with sources if you don't wish for me to make this change.Esfellers (talk) 19:18, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It Could stand for Allante Touring Sedan.... only if there were 2 less doors, a v8 and a removable Roof. This would be called the ATC (Allante Touring Coupe or Allante Touring Convertible)if GM would ask what consumers want which is a quick comfy convertible conversion crossover wagon... but QCCCCW doesnt look good on the back of a car...
