Naming convention[edit]

GM's press release. Yes, they write "Converj Concept" once at the top of the article, but everywhere else it's called the Converj. "Concept" is a descriptor just like "coupe" or "sedan" or "wagon" would be. The other recent Cadillac concepts are called "Cadillac Imaj", "Cadillac Provoq", etc., so why would this be any different? --Vossanova o< 19:18, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good to me. Kenavt (talk) 13:14, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

November 2010?[edit]

This article says November, 2010, and this one has a nice picture. 99.56.138.51 (talk) 06:36, 27 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No it doesn't. The Volt is scheduled for November 2010, the Converj is tentatively for some later, unspecified date. It is still a concept. --Vossanova o< 15:49, 27 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I see what you're saying, but I think you reverted a lot -- why revert the electric range from the infobox? You also deleted these reliable industry press sources:
I didn't see a reliable source for the electric range, but I'm looking at the original press release (http://archives.media.gm.com/us/gm/en/news/events/autoshows/09naias/brands/cadillac/09_NAIAS_Cadillac%20Converj%20Concept.htm) and they claim "up to 40 miles" there like the Volt. As for the "reliable industry press sources", Automotive News says Bob Lutz said it would be produced sometime after 2012, and Motor Trend just referenced Automotive News. There has been no official announcement of production, so we cannot write anything about it like it's fact. See WP:CRYSTAL. We can say that there have been reports in the media about it, but we don't want to spread rumors here. --Vossanova o< 15:34, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please separate articles: "Cadillac ELR" production car and "Cadillac Converj" concept car![edit]

There need to be two separate articles, one on the Cadillac Converj concept car, and another on the Cadillac ELR production car. How to do it? Move this article to Cadillac Converj and change the category of this article to Cadillac automobiles. Then edit both to cover just their respective subject. --L.Willms (talk) 06:14, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Cadillac ELR classification[edit]

first of all,to those switching hatchback to coupe and vice versa, the ELR is a coupe-not hatchback. hatchback means it has a rear door but the ELR's rear is a trunk not a lifting-door. please see:

hatchback

coupe

car classification

Second, I understand the ELR looks like it's a sports car but in fact it is not. It uses a Chevy Volt powertrain and has the same performance but the volt is not classified as sport. Basically sport means the car is designed for track/performance and made light weight-it is not based on the look of the car. If I am wrong please correct me.Among Men (talk) 03:41, 13 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It not a matter of right or wrong, its a matter of citing a reliable source. The ELR is currently identified correctly as a "Compact car" because that is its EPA classification according to the cited source. As it stands now, there is no source identifying the car as a coupe. I don't understand why you placed a citation proving your point on the talk page but failed to put that citation in the article. 97.113.11.154 (talk) 00:30, 14 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I know EPA classification does not include coupe but that i don't know if that is any reason to call it not a coupe if it actually is one.Among Men (talk) 00:27, 15 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Coupe is not a car class, it is a body style. Car class and body style are not the same thing. 174.21.142.226 (talk) 14:07, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
and the ELR is not a sports car.Among Men (talk) 15:26, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Again, the car is whatever reliable sources say it is. The opinion of any particular wikipedia editor is irrelevant. 174.21.228.204 (talk) 17:09, 20 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
yes, various sources call the cadillac elr a luxury car, coupe, compact but NOT a sports car. GM does NOT refer to the Cadillac ELR as a sports car. Reference must be given for otherwise.Among Men (talk) 17:16, 27 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What decision to cancel?[edit]

The article says "General Motors reversed its decision to cancel the project in August 2011" without any previous mention of or evidence for any such decision. (Merely refuting media speculation is far from the same thing as an actual decision to cancel---as far as the press knew there was nothing to cancel in the first place.) Either delete this sentence or state (with sources) that GM decided to cancel it, including the date of the decision to cancel. Vaughan Pratt (talk) 02:29, 23 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Cadillac ELR[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Cadillac ELR's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 22:07, 18 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Changing the Converj concept front view image[edit]

What do you all think about changing the Converj front view image from what it is now to this image?

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Cadillac_Converj_Concept.jpg

I think its a much better quality image overall, but what do you all think? ~~ TKOIII (talk) 20:15, 19 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
