"California Jam II" or "Cal Jam II"?[edit]

I think that the name "Cal Jam" / "Cal Jam II" is more common than "California Jam" / "California Jam II".

But before renaming this page I wanted to see if anyone had any objections.

early in the evening of cal jam 2, between bands (maybe between Mahogany Rush and Aerosmith), they had the best laser show I have ever seen while Jean-Micheal Jarre's song played over the sound system...very cool, one of the highlights of the day for me actually...anyway, that's why his song must have been included on the album... 66.75.39.174 (talk) 10:37, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Jean-Michel Jarre was the first or second act to play at Cal-Jam 2. Mahogany Rush was the second to last act, before Rubicon. Or the previous poster may be right, it was the last act. OP is right, the credits for the song on the double album for Side 3, Track 4 Jean Michel Jarre - Oxygene (Part 5) are as follows:

    (f) Arranged and Produced by Jean Michel Jarre
     Original recording by Disques Motors-France
     From the Polydor album Oxygene (PD-1-6112)
     ◌ 1976 Francis Dreyfus Music

That circle should have a "P" in it, couldn't find the symbol equivalent. I interpret this as meaning the track is directly from the studio album, but don't have a turntable anymore, lol. I am the Stepson of Leonard Stogel and would like to add his name as well as Sandy Feldman's as Producers of Cal Jam II. The whole California Jam idea was the brainchild of Lenny and Don.

Aerosmith Songs[edit]

Not sure if i should put this in the article but the Aerosmith songs on the Cal Jam 2 album are not from Cal Jam 2

The songs were played there but the ones on the album are from different dates

Same Old Song And Dance is from Columbus March 24 1978

Chip Away The Stone is from Santa Monica April 8 1978 from the Live! Bootleg album

and Draw The Line is from March 26 1978 also from the Live! Bootleg album

Not sure about lineup...[edit]

Somehow the lineup shown doesn't jive with my somewhat shaky memory...yes, I WAS THERE! Not in the massive crowd, but lucky enough (?) to be in the front row - I was working for one of the closest college radio station to the site (KUOR/University of Redlands), and the station was fortunate enough to obtain a few press passes. Left ear didn't work properly for three days after the concert, but it was worth it! As I remember, the line-up was (in order of appearance): Bob Welch (with special guest Stevie Nicks), Dave Mason, Heart, Santana (the morning haze broke away just as the band started), Ted Nugent (who made up for not being able to helicopter on-stage by jumping from the top of a stack of Marshall amps!), Aerosmith, and closing band Rubicon. Jean Michel Jarre[edit]

Jean Michel Jarre is listed as one of the performing acts, and "Oxygene V" is on the soundtrack album, but did he actually perform at the concert?
