Wording[edit]

The article right now has: "ran in the shadow of the more charismatic". Well, I think this is always subjective.

While I do not disagree that Carl was more charismatic, how can this be determined objectively? I don't think you can; and I don't think it should be in a wikipedia article. I suggest to remove the part "more charismatic" since this is a page about Calvin Smith, and not Carl Lewis or anyone else. If you want to praise Carl Lewis then do so on his wikipedia entry, but leave the entry of Calvin Smith alone (and I mean this in general - wikipedia has a few weird articles like that, which seem to be written by a person who is NOT objective but wishes to suggest something without adding links to that claim; and even WITH links I find it questionable to belittle Calvin Smith here - what's the point? Why insult him by saying he is less charismatic? That is simply UNNECESSARY, it is not objective either, so please someone remove this). 2A02:8388:1641:8380:1535:595B:9280:DF61 (talk) 16:51, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Irrelevant Content in the 1988 Olympics Section[edit]

Three and half of the four total paragraphs in the 1988 Olympics section discuss the dope testing of other athletes; the only relevance is that one athlete’s disqualification elevated Calvin Smith to the bronze medal. The depth of content provided really does not belong on this page. A Carbine Flash (talk) 20:22, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
