Blitz Buggy

FWIW: The term 'Blitz Buggy' was used by Australian servicemen to describe the CMP during and after the war, but it was not coined by them, and it applied in a general way to many military transport vehicles.

'Blitz Buggy' seems to have been introduced by American forces, and was at first a nick-name for the ubiquitous Willy's 'Jeep', which was itself a nick-name.
