Ghost?[edit]

Is it worth adding something about the goings-on in this story? --Redrose64 (talk) 23:46, 9 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Probably not User:Redrose64 unless there is more substantial coverage than a colour piece in a local paper.SovalValtos (talk) 18:33, 28 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@SovalValtos: Ooh, an answer after five years. It doesn't bother me: I was asking on behalf of Yellowrose63 (talk · contribs) who had not created an account at the time. I'm seeing them tomorrow, will try to remember to pass this on. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 18:49, 28 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Parish?[edit]

Does parish here refer to some historic designation? Or is it the same as community? DankJae 22:13, 8 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Or is it from the Church of Wales' former parish system? Apparently now Mission Areas? Of which Carew isn't. DankJae 22:15, 8 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@DankJae: I don't think that Wales has parishes any more. Civil parishes were replaced by communities fifty years ago (see Community (Wales)), whereas ecclesiastical parishes (which often had different boundaries from civil parishes) may no longer exist either, see Parish#Church in Wales. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 07:37, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Redrose64, yes Wales has no parishes AFIAA, hence why I added this comment, because I am confused why it is used here. It likely referred to the former Church in Wales subdivision, as that was more recent, and "community" is already here, equivalent to the English civil parishes. Should there be no opposition, would remove "parish" from here, and likely other Welsh articles that use it, if such usage is unexplained. DankJae 07:44, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've found South West Pembrokeshire: Churches in this Parish which indicates that a parish may still exist, but judging by the number of churches (not just St Mary, Carew Cheriton), and their wide geographical area, this parish is far larger than Carew. On the same website there is Structure, which shows the hierarchy down to parishes, and says In some Dioceses the Parish and Ministry / Mission Area are one and the same. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 07:55, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This Monmouth CiW source labels it as Parish of South West Pembrokeshire, and as you reference the entity under "parish" in the CiW URL is SWP. Nonetheless, may need to look into each case further than expected, although confused why an Anglican subdivision is stated in leads anyway? DankJae 08:09, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
