Section about where the money goes[edit]
I didn't mean to be a troll, but late last night, frustrated with Nick's medical situation, I felt that the site CaringBridge site was taking advantage of folks. As a software developer with experience in cloud computing, CaringBridge had the feel of 3 guys and an offshore bank account. CaringBridge is a great idea. It's decreased my sister's daily phone time from 10 hours to 2. That's a *HUGE* service! And... it's not really that complex an application to build and maintain. So... I don't bemoan the team for recovering costs and making a living, but it feels a bit heavy handed and sneaky.
After I posted the new paragraph, I looked at the financials. I was shocked. 70 employees. Really? It seems that 3 would be overkill to me, given what I know of mobile apps and cloud computing. 9 million dollars, 8 of which goes to services. Really? I find that hard to believe. Perhaps there are services that I don't know about. If I learned about them, I could change my mind. But from my current set of data points, this still feels like 3 guys and an offshore bank account. Further research only added that it also has a good sounding "Genesis Story".
Like our understanding of the universe, we can only account for a small fraction of it's mass. What am I missing? Where does most of the money go? A single line item for "Services" with a tag of $8 million could use a bit more transparency to my liking (and possibly others). Heck, I may be missing some huge service, and simply daylighting it could change my mind.
RESPONSE
If you have concerns about how a 501-c-3 is spending it's funds, you can do a search for their 990 tax form- it is public record. They are required to disclose the top salaries and expenses. No one is getting rich at CaringBridge, and they are providing a great service.

Suggested Merging Sona Mehring with CaringBridge[edit]
I'm proposing the merger of Ms. Mehring's article with this (probably in the history). Looking over the information in her article, I am not sure at this time if she satisfies WP:BIO enough to have her own independent article. umrguy42 17:40, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
.. To merge both i think is a bad idear. There is the person and a organization and both are differnt kind of things

3rd.... Mrs. Sona works for Caringbridge, though it should be noted she founded the non-profit in its history scetion she should not be exclusively placed there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.20.179.9 (talk) 17:17, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
