Restructuring article/Origins[edit]

Hi, I restructured the article, I think it looks better now. I just want to ask, how does Carl being African American/good at bastketball imply that he might not have grown up in Iceland... and where is it stated that he grew up in Iceland anyway? In the episode where Lisa protests light pollution after taking up astronomy because a snooty documentarian said she was a "buffet intellectual" the mayor turns the city lights up to "perma-noon" which causes Carl to say "you know what this reminds me of? My Icelandic childhood." I think that should be reflected in the article, since it's a recent, canon episode (that is, not a halloween episode or fantasy sequence, etc).Yipely 20:24, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I remember a bit where Marge in There's Something About Marrying, in all seriousness, admonishes Homer to allow Lenny and Carl to work out their feelings for each other without Homer pushing them to get hitched. Carl is not African American...[edit]

If Carl was born in Iceland (as stated in the first paragraph), why is he listed as an African American? He is an Icelandic American, so I'm going to remove him from the African American category and create an Icelandic American category and put him in it. No - from straight man- "An archetypal comic foil, especially in a comedy duo; a character whose seriousness, obliviousness or both conflicts with one or more other characters to comic effect."
