Parma UEFA Cup win[edit]

Ancelotti was not at Parma in 1998-99 so how could he have won the UEFA Cup? He was at Juventus then (he took over midseason after Lippi resigned) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ucl1986 (talkcontribs) 02:43, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Removed as per 1999 UEFA Cup Final. Jmorrison230582 (talk) 06:54, 6 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Penalty shoot-outs[edit]

For the anonymous editor who keeps changing it, matches which end level and are then decided on penalties are always officially recorded as draws, irrespective of who wins the shoot-out. Note how FIFA records England's match with Portugal at the 2006 World Cup as a draw, despite losing on penalties. [1] UEFA do likewise, the Champions League final against Man Utd, decided on pens, is not listed as one of Chelsea's 16 CL losses (those 16 losses are to Hertha Berlin, Marseille, Lazio, Barcelona (thrice), Besiktas, Monaco, Porto, Bayern Munich, Liverpool (twice), Real Betis, Werder Bremen, Fenerbahce and Roma). Semi-protected edit request on 28 September 2017[edit]

Add context surrounding his firing by Bayern Munich. He was sacked after his team lost 3-0 against Paris Saint-Germain in the 2017/18 Champions League Group Stage. When he was fired, his team was third in the Bundesliga table, behind Borussia Dortmund and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, and had 13 points (4 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss). The name of one particular Italian Club in English is Inter Milan[edit]

You'll notice that there were five previous move requests

  1. RM, F.C. Internazionale Milano → Inter Milan, No consensus, 7 March 2012, Talk:Inter Milan/Archive 1#Requested move
  2. RM, F.C. Internazionale Milano → Inter Milan, Moved, 14 June 2012, Talk:Inter Milan/Archive 1#Requested Move: F.C. Internazionale Milano → Inter Milan
  3. RM, Inter Milan → F.C. Internazionale Milano, Not moved, 8 March 2013, Talk:Inter Milan/Archive 2#Requested move 3
  4. RM, Inter Milan → F.C. Internazionale Milano, Not moved, 12 January 2015, Talk:Inter Milan/Archive 3#Requested move 12 January 2015
  5. RM, Inter Milan → F.C. Internazionale Milano, Not moved, 13 July 2015, Talk:Inter_Milan/Archive_3#Requested_move_5_July_2015

Each time, it was determined that the Italian name is not the WP:COMMONNAME. As such, why should the endonym not be used and its exonym be used instead? I don't know what "Südtirol" has to do with the subject since that redirect to the South Tyrol. Perhaps it's reference to a club name, but that's not clear. While on the other hand Real Madrid C.F. is more clear and it's COMMONNAME is just that in English. That is also the case with Juventus F.C. If you want to use Internazionale, go to the Inter Milan article and request a move to that location. In short, we don't need to pipe to a foreign name when there is a common English variant for that name. Walter Görlitz (talk) 02:06, 19 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

And one thing further, asking if an editor is blind is treading very close to, if not dancing a jig all over the WP:NPA line. If you can't edit when you're calm, walk away and come back when you are. Comment on the content, not the contributor. Walter Görlitz (talk) 02:08, 19 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Grammar in managerial style section[edit]

  • What I think should be changed:

The words "usually almost always" could be shortened to "usually" or "almost always"

  • Why it should be changed:

"usually almost always" is poor grammar/semantics
