lineups updated 2000-2013[edit]

I can go as far back as 2000 according to the Carols in the Domain website. Older lineups will need to be searched by newspapers and other magazine articles. -AngusWOOF (talk) 00:30, 4 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There are also some orchestras and choir groups that can be added. -AngusWOOF (talk) 01:53, 4 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Looking much better! I think adding the names of Musical Directors and orchestras/choirs is a great idea. Two questions -
  1. What did you think about adding a list of charities supported?
  2. Do we need a separate heading for presenters if we have hosts listed in the table above?

I hate thinking of names (talk) 06:45, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Do they have charities other than Salvation Army? Choirs and orchestra can be listed as a second line after the main guests. There can be bullet lists after the guests for musical directors, crew, and sponsors with years involved. (e.g. X (2005-2013)). The "past presenters" section can go away. Other than the two main hosts each year, the rest of the celebs aren't split between presenters and singers. -AngusWOOF (talk) 07:10, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You're right - just The Salvation Army's Oasis Youth Support Network. As it doesn't have a page of its own (and probably doesn't warrant one) should it have its own sub-heading? Maybe provide a little information on what it is, how its involved with CitD? Just thinking out loud :)I hate thinking of names (talk) 10:43, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It can be expanded upon in the History section. According to the title page there's a Robyn Hobbs, but dunno who that person is in the business. Also when and how the NSW government got involved, and other sponsors, and how they managed to keep it free, besides selling the naming rights to Woolworth's and other sponsors. -AngusWOOF (talk) 18:17, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've done a little today - made a start at least. I changed 'Sponsors' to 'Major sponsors' at least until we have a better idea of who and when. Ive also removed the redundant 'Past presenters'. Haven't found anything on Robyn Hobbs. I hate thinking of names (talk) 13:48, 6 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Robyn Hobbs, found articles where she was awarded an OAM honors for her founding of Carols. [1] Still have yet to find details prior to the event. She has a bunch of executive positions in the local government and organizations. -AngusWOOF (talk) 15:45, 6 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The Wiggles[edit]

The Wiggles first performed Go Santa Go on Carols in the Domain in 1998. You see, this was actually one of their very first Christmas song performances on television. That's why they already released the Wiggly, Wiggly Christmas video last year (1997). Dcelano, January 5, 2014, (UTC)

Do you have a source? Finding references that far back is proving difficult I hate thinking of names (talk) 16:31, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Song List[edit]

I have removed this heading (previously added below References) as in my opinion it would be too difficult to maintain an accurate and verifiable list of all songs performed over the years. If I am in error, then perhaps it would be better inserted in the body of the text, possibly immediately after the table of events I hate thinking of names (talk) 12:06, 15 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Some sourcing please.[edit]

The last four years of content in the section headed "List of Past Events" is completely unsourced. I flagged it with some Citation needed tags a week ago. In the past 24 hours I've had to twice revert the addition of more unsourced content to that part of the article. I'm not from Sydney. Wouldn't know where to even start looking for sources. Can anyone help here please? HiLo48 (talk) 22:42, 25 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 13:31, 25 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
