The Carretera Austral is not known as "Carretera Presidente Pinochet". If you look in new maps, you will notice that the name is always carretera austral, and not carretera presidente pinochet.

The web page profesorenlinea.cl does not have correct and reliable information about Augusto Pinochet. You can find false information like:

- "The militar coup was due to the people's clamor" (incorrect or inexact)

- You cannot find the word "Dictator" in the web page, a typical error from the extreme-right thinkers, that state that Pinochet was a "President" (tourismechile also said "presidente Pinochet. Is it an extreme-right website ?comment add by 212.23.175.190 (talk) 15:13, 27 January 2009 (UTC)).[reply]

- You cannot find Information about the crimes perpetrated during his command, another typical technique of the extreme-right sources, to hide the negative arguments against the militar goverment.

Therefore, I discourage the use of the web page profesorenlinea.cl as a source of information about anithing related to Pinochet. You can find official information about the carretera austral just by looking in google, "carretera austral site::.gov.cl". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.145.230.3 (talk) 10:55, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

These sites ([1], [2] and this map) mention the name Carretera Pinochet.212.23.175.190 (talk) 15:07, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The map (of the book) is from 1987 (when Pinochet was still in the government). The first site is just the web site from a tourist, and the second site does not work. This source is official (a web page of the actual government):

A fourth ferry[edit]

The article says there are three ferries, but in fact there are four. The ferry listed as the second crossing, for 5 hours, is actually two different ones, connected by a very short road section of perhaps 10.3 kilometres; the third ferry ride is very short to Galeta Gonzalo. The ferry listed as the third appears to be at least the fourth, and as time goes on as I trace the route on Google Earth, I might find another. GBC (talk) 21:35, 7 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
