Sappho and Menander on mummy cartonnage[edit]

The papyrus used as mummy cartonnage because it's important because it sometimes contains works of literature which are otherwise unknown to us. For example, one of Sappho's poems was discovered on mummy cartonnage a few years ago (see the article about Sappho, which however doesn't identify the source of the papyrus).
