I am getting the point - and will not edit any more castle articles - it seems I've stepped into a turf war. This article had so many issue and I cannot see the need to revert all the work done cleaning up citations, adding sources, teasing out the historical info and removing the extraneous detail.

I promise castles can stay your domain, but it's insulting to have such hard work reverted to such an unfinished version.--CaroleHenson (talk) 09:03, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Seriouly, I promise that I won't step in on any more castle articles, but can we settle this rationally? If needed, I'll find the guideline for not replacing cited material with uncited materia.--CaroleHenson (talk) 09:03, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Since there seems to be an emotional reaction to my WP:Bold editing, I'll summarize what I did:

Created a history section, pulling information from the intro and other places so that it was presented chronologically.
Cleaned up and completed incomplete citations
Summarized the cite survey information, using the summary information from the surveys themselves and articles about the surveys.
Removed redundant citations.

This was really so bad that it had to be reverted to its earlier, state that wasn't in accordance with WP:MOS, WP:Detail, WP:Citing sources and other guidelines?--CaroleHenson (talk) 09:28, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
