To nominate or not to nominate?[edit]

What's the deal with Leslie's choices this week, then? Personally, I don't think they should count as nominations, since he wasn't specifically putting these housemates up for the public vote. In fact, he wasn't even told that they would face the public vote until after his first decision, which doesn't make them nominations. But then these housemates are still facing the public vote, so it's a question of whether they should be classed as 'nominated' in blue (such as the first week of the BB14 table), or whether they should be labelled similarly to BB5's army task or BB9's wedding task (e.g. 'in house'/'on scrapheap') and coloured accordingly, or whether we should just stick with Leslie's choices being counted as nominations (the table still says 'no nominations' which makes no sense)... it's a very confusing concept and a very confusing twist. What do we think? - StigOfTheKrump (talk) 15:47, 23 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If it says no nominations then that is what there should be, not having nominations when it says no nominations --MSalmon (talk) 16:36, 23 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It counts as a nomination imo, because Leslie knew they would be nominated therefore he's effectively nominating them. Many media articles are referring to it as nominations too. --ThatJosh (talk) 23:22, 23 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think it should count as a nomination either. He didn't nominate Frenchy and Gary, he didn't even know the decision would mean they'd be nominated. I think it should go back to "No nominations" apart from Leslie's in yellow, or everyone who ends up being safe in yellow. Remember last series Jim & Linda chose to free Dappy & Liz from the handcuffs meaning they'd automatically be nominated. They didn't know this at the time, but on the table it didn't count as a nomination either. ThisIsDanny (talk) 08:18, 24 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I agree completely but some people don't think so --MSalmon (talk) 08:45, 24 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
He knew when Kellie and David were put up though and it would be weird to only count half. -ThatJosh (talk) 13:04, 24 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I think we should do it as the last series, but have the four who are nominated in purple, Leslie in yellow with no nominations and the rest grey with no nominations --MSalmon (talk) 14:17, 24 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
That works. It looks weird though "no nominations", then "nominated" -ThatJosh (talk) 14:56, 24 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
So? --MSalmon (talk) 15:14, 24 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
That should only be used if they're already nominated before the others nominate. There are no nominations. And what should the day be at the top of the column? Because this is over different days. ThisIsDanny (talk) 16:32, 24 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
My personal belief is that these should count as nominations. Even if you want to argue that Frenchy and Gary weren't nominated the traditional way, Leslie did know that he was nominating Kellie, David and Claire. As well, Frenchy essentially vetoing herself gave her the opportunity to nominate someone and she chose James. Finally, for Gary and Frenchy, Leslie did know that he was punishing them, even if he didn't necessarily know it was a nomination. I haven't made any edits, but I believe that the way it's represented on the table as of my typing this is how things should remain. I view "star of the show" nomination powers essentially as the equivalent of "power housemate." Just my two cents. Tonbu (talk) 05:49, 26 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and I believe it should say day 7 as that's when noms were locked in and voting began. Tonbu (talk) 05:52, 26 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
This is how bbspy have done their table [1] --MSalmon (talk) 18:26, 26 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

These are not nominations - of any colour. He was asked to select HMs using a criteria. BBs intention at that time was not stated to the HMs therefore no nomination occurred, simply selection for a punishment. Leaky Caldron 19:22, 26 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. He wasn't asked who to nominate or who should face eviction, he was asked who was least entertaining, who showed the least talent and who least deserved to be there. ThisIsDanny (talk) 19:40, 26 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It was clear after Frenchy and Gary that these selections also meant who was facing eviction. And for James and Claire's nominations the specific phrasing is "who will face eviction". I think the nomination table should be how bbspy did their table according to Msalmon. [2] Tonbu (talk) 22:20, 26 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Even if it was like bbspy's table, it should not show that Frenchy nominated James. Save and replace are never shown in the table. ThisIsDanny (talk) 22:29, 26 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough. All I'm saying is, I feel like at least Kellie, David and Claire should be shown as nominations. You can argue the semantics of what BB asked, but Leslie did know the repercussions of selecting them. Particularly in the case of Claire, where it was explicitly stated that it was a nomination.Tonbu (talk) 23:28, 26 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Can we change the colour of Star of the Show in legend?[edit]

It appears the same colour as 'nominated' on my screen unless I look from a certain angle at my laptop screen. They're a bit similar so I wondered if there was another colour we could use instead. --ThatJosh (talk) 23:23, 23 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Use yellow for immune/exempt --MSalmon (talk) 08:45, 24 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I would have said to treat it the same as power housemates from Big Brother 15 (UK), as it's a similar concept. –anemoneprojectors– 11:42, 24 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Oh ok, then you can change it back if you want. Also, should Leslie's choices for the Scrapheap count as nominations? --MSalmon (talk) 12:18, 24 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Is that the colour that was used before? If it's a problem for some users then it's probably not a good idea. I would say they count as a type of nomination, as they are the people facing the vote. –anemoneprojectors– 12:32, 24 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for changing the colour, looks much better now. Only trouble might be when we have finalists, could we not add Purple or something? -ThatJosh (talk) 12:58, 24 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
