State Route 30[edit]

Who's the retard who claims that this highway is State Route 30? Would love to know the source of the claim... 202.93.188.19 14:14, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies for the "retard" outburst before, but was rather frustrated at the silly inaccuracies that keep appearing on Wikipedia. According to www.ozroads.com.au, State Route 30 was signposted as a route running from Ryde to Kellyville from 1974 until 1992. Central Coast Highway is 'State Highway No. 30' as declared under the Roads Act 1993 - this is a completely different classification system to 'State Route'. I would also suggest that the webmaster of Ozroads may be interested on the RTA documents you ahve showing Central Coast Highway as A43 in the future, the site has a rather large page on the future alpha-numeric route marking system. 202.93.188.19 (talk) 13:41, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As per the RTA at the best of time they stuffed the signage install not once but twice. The documents sent to my organisation were not followed so as it stands the A43 cannot be proved :( 165.228.178.83 (talk) 05:40, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

UPDATE - State Route 30 remains a decommissioned route through Sydney's inner north-west around the Epping and Eastwood areas. Central Coast Highway has not been officially gazetted and won't be until alphanumeric. 165.228.178.83 (talk) 00:10, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Don't write about things you don't understand. Central Coast Highway has been declared a Highway (formerly State Highway) - No. 30 - and that number will NEVER appear on directional signs as it is a legal and administrative classification like the Pacific Highway is Highway No. 10. Was that tone necessary? I guess so if you don't bother signing your own entry... Funnier still is your use of the term "alpha-numeric route marking system". What's your point? The system is already in place in NSW, albeit at the moment it is just one route. Obviously the Central COast Hwy has been allocated a number, but it hasn't been officially commissioned as yet. According to documents I've seen from the RTA, the Central Coast Highway will actually be A49 when Alphanumeric kicks in. Without leaking confidential RTA documents I can't prove that but I am certain that is the alpha-numeric marker beneath most coverplates.124.179.78.127 (talk) 12:08, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Apauling[edit]

Pointless Article[edit]

This article doesn't seem to fit the parameters of a Wikipedia article. It would be more at home in a street directory that in an encyclopedia.

There is no citations given for most of the article (the comments about "not many people" noticing the change to the Central Coast Highway signs at Erina are a clear example) and most of it seems to be original research.

Above all else, this seems a rather pointless article. The main theme seems to be about how some people might be affected by road name changes, but seems to concentrate on people who ARE NOT affected by them. That section could be summarised into one sentence.

Luckily Wikipedia isn't about personal opinions, but about facts.
The Central Coast is a State Highway commissioned by the Roads and Traffic Authority and falls under the category of Highways in New South Wales. Do you suggest articles on all roads and highways be eliminated from Wikipedia? The "not many people" reference has been removed, a simple Wikipedia foible that we all come across (and all have the power to change). Regardless, the article is intended to factually describe the Highway, it's location and it's purpose, which it clearly does.
Additionally, your own poor research uncovers the fact that you would have merged such an article with "Gosford" instead of "Central Coast". 124.184.174.74 14:43, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
