"Cereus validus" or "Cereus forbesii"?[edit]

I have researched, but still unsure to use "Cereus validus" or "Cereus forbesii" on this page and as the subpage/redirect. The ES lang Wiki shows validus as proper name currently. But, all my research (including wikispecies) points to forbesii being the current proper name and validus being a synonym. It does seem pretty disputed, especially when you throw other Cereus species in the mix. Best I can conclude is that GBIF lists Cereus forbesii as accepted and Cereus validus as a synonym of Cereus hildmannianus Mbdfar (talk) 06:13, 14 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Plants of the World Online agrees that Cereus forbesii is an accepted name, while Cereus validus is a synonym of Cereus hildmannianus subsp. hildmannianus (see here). Peter coxhead (talk) 09:54, 14 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
