Different, not incompatible[edit]

IME, 'chalk and cheese' is more often used in the sense of 'different' than 'incompatible'. Googling would seem to confirm this.

Also, 'oil and water' is not a particularly 'American' phrase; an appropriate Google search produces plenty of UK-based hits. --Calair 01:07, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect to apples and oranges inappropriate[edit]
