Reverend Channappa's greatest contribution to the field of literature was his relentless effort in collecting and categorising the "Sarvagnana Vachanas" and publishing it.

The statue of Uttangi Chennappa, renowned Kannada litterateur, has been unveiled at his native village in Uttangi in Hadagali taluk on Friday by the Chief Minister, N. Dharam Singh.

Sri Vishweshwa Tirtha Swamiji of Pejawar Math, Deshikendra Swamiji of Suttur Math, Karnunakar Reddy, MP, MLAs of the district and other elected representatives will participated.
