Death year[edit]

Lots of sources have the death year wrong by 20 years. He died in 1894, but those erroneous sources state that he died in 1874 instead. My guess is that The Cyclopedia of New Zealand, which for the Nelson, Marlborough and Westland Provincial Districts was published in 1906, got this wrong first. As it was a standard reference piece, the mistake would have propagated from there. Schwede 66 02:32, 26 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
