Blue Forgotten Planet[edit]

The article assumes that it was "Charley/Mila" who died in the explosion in Blue Forgotten Planet, and that it was the original Charley who survived and worked with the Viryans to alter the Doctor's memories. I agree that that seems more likely, both from a character standpoint and by the expectations of dramatic structure; however, the audio itself is deliberately ambiguous about which Charley survived. There's an earlier scene in which the original Charley tells Charley/Mila her whole backstory, which means that the Charley who talks to the Doctor at the end could be Mila talking about the Charley whose identity she stole. And at the end of that scene, the Doctor asks, "Which one are you? Are you Charlotte Pollard?" and "Charley" responds, "We both were."

The script (which BF subscribers can download) is even clearer that it could be either one: a stage direction says "[WE DON’T KNOW WHICH CHARLEY CALLED OUT AND WHICH SHUT OFF THE DISSEMINATOR AND DIED.]" and from that point on the character is identified in the dialogue markers as "A CHARLOTTE POLLARD".

So unless someone disagrees in the next few days, I'll edit the article (and the Mila section of the spin-off companions article) to reflect this ambiguity. —Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 17:55, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
